Update for Daddy

I am in Vegas this week with my family... Poor Jon misses his baby so much so these pictures and updates are for him...

Naomi has finally started smiling for real.  She smiled six times today, three of which when i was playing patti cake...her new favorite game! She also has definitely found her voice.  It is crazy to see her changing over night.  She is SO demanding all of a sudden (I wonder where she gets it) if she wants to be fed, she wants to be fed NOW.  She is just now getting out of the complete new born stage and is knowing what she wants.  Oh and she hasn't slept one night since we have been here.

My Baby Lady

I actually don't mind blogging now that I have something fun to blog about... I know most people really don't want to see pictures of just kids, but I've got to keep my family connected to this sweet little thing. Naomi was so cute today that I couldn't resist breaking out the camera and taking a few shots. She is such a good baby, I have hardly yet to hear a real cry from her, just little grunts and groans (sometimes very loud), but they are so cute. We took her to Dr. last week and she is back up to her birth weight, which is good, and she is in the 83 percentile for her heighth. She is super tall! I love this little chick.

One of my only pictures with her... I need to take more

Yummy

She wanted nothing to do with the camera at this point

Best Week Ever... and Baby's First Bath

I have to say this last week was one of the best ever, as we were surrounded by wonderful family. My Mom and Dad came to stay with us this last week and helped out so much. My Mom taught me the ropes of being a mom and my sweet Dad waited on us hand and foot. There was a lot of laughing, visiting, and fun, and let me tell you I was so incredibly depressed to see them leave. Why can't they move in permanantely?

Then there was Jon's family that cooked us dinner almost every night and came to visit almost everyday. It really is such a blessing to have such a great family, and this last week was seriously the such a great one.

Thank you to everyone that made it so great!

Below are some pictures of Naomi's first bath and just some random ones that I thought were cute!

Relaxing with Mom and Dad

Mitch came over and was playing Dad's guitar, while we both sang a couple of songs we knew. Naomi was in Heaven she just stared at me while I sang, it was the sweetest thing ever. She loved it, and loves Uncle Mitch's playing

Seriously, can you please come back??

I Could Just Eat Her...

Little Naomi has her days and nights mixed up. She is literally asleep all day long, and only takes cat naps throughout the night. I can tell this might get a little bit tiresome, but how can I be mad to pull a tiny little baby from her bassinet each night to snuggle?? She is the sweetest thing ever.

She had a little accident when daddy was changing her.

SHOUT OUT!

One thing that has been really fun with this baby is to decorate and create a look I want. I probably won't be able to do this with every baby so it has been fun to customize for this first one.

For Christmas my Mother-in-Law, Sandy gave me a bassinet, and told me she would make any bassinet cover I wanted... HOW NICE! I already knew the style I wanted but after fabric hunting and choosing from many gorgeous fabrics, here is the outcome.

SHE DID SUCH AN AMAZING JOB! I am so impressed with how great it looks, and that it only took her two days!!! What a wonderful talent! I couldn't be happier with how it turned out, and I can't wait to see this little lady all bundled up and cozy in it.

Thank you so much Sandy, I am so excited to have this!

Large and In Charge~
______________________
Many people have asked me to post a picture of me pregnant. Well here it is. And that is one of the only pregnant pics I have. I might regret it one day, but... maybe not. I am not the type that thinks being pregnant is so cute. Don't get me wrong, I love it, and it is AMAZING, but I can think of ALOT cuter things in life :)
ENJOY!

O Christmas Tree

We decided last minute to officially finish our tree tonight. I have to say that I am pleased with the way it turned out. It is cozys up the house, and it is actually fun to have! I didn't really think I would put one up again this year, but I am glad I did.
I also posted a stab at my first Christmas Village. It needs more work, but I am not sure I have the energy.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

So Talented
Here are a couple gifts I got at my baby shower the other day. Each one was made by a different friend and I had to post, because they are so cute, and because I am ALWAYS so impressed when people sew and make things on their own.

Something I really wish I could do.

Jenny made this darling onesie with a pink crown....fitting for the new little girl.

And Lindsay made this adorable onesie and hair bow.

I am SO excited for this baby to get here! She will be so cute in these!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY...
To one of the greatest sisters ever!

Happy Birthday to one of my dear sisters and best friends Jill! Hope you have a great day, and something new I have learned about you, is that you treat pregnant woman really great!
I was actually laughing really hard at how accomodating Jill is to her pregnant sister...
1) I spent the night there and I got Rob's spot on the bed (he took the couch)
2) At midnight I needed Unisom so she got dressed, and went to the store (from out of bed)
3) She made me food (usually something dad does, but Jill took over)
4) She let me sit shotgun in the car while her and Rob switched off in between two car seats in the back (VERY SMOOSHED) for 6 hours!
You are great all around, and I love you! Have a great day!
SAY IT AIN'T SO!

Is this some sort of sick joke?

This is what our babies are supposed to look like... Nice how they tried to give her my bangs, nice try! And I am pretty sure she won't be wearing 14 braids anytime soon either.

Don't even get me started with the boy....

This Says Enough For Me...

I don't claim to be a political whiz or to know everything about this election. The one thing I do know, is that I will be seriously disappointment if Barack Obama is our next President. For his stance on abortion/partial birth abortion ALONE is enough for me not to vote for him. I think he is a creepy little man that has no real respect or commitment for the USA.

I just wanted to share this...go its worth it:

Needing a change:

Should I go back in time? It would be pretty funny if (and they probably will) these hairstyles came back in style.

Senate Bill S 1738—The PROTECT Our Children Act: ACT NOW! We only have until Sept. 26

I don't know if any of you watched Oprah today, and if you didn't.... Don't. It is EXTREMELY disturbing and absolutely disgusting. I won't go into details but it was about child and infant pornography, rape, and molestation, caught on tape. They showed how many people are involved and to what extent. You would NOT BELIEVE how many sick and twisted scum bags are out there harming so many innocent infants and children.... most of them their own children, and posting them on the internet for the sick and twisted friends to watch in delight. The numbers were seriously appauling.
Bottom line there are so many out there and there are not enought people to help stop this. If our Senate passes Bill S 1738 we will get the funding to put these guys behind bars. Right now we simply do not have the resources to do this, so these innocent children are suffering everyday.
You can help, but you have to HURRY!
_____________________________________________
Here is what you need to do:
1) visit http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm to find out who your senator is (choose your state from the drop down menu at the top)
2. Click on their "webform" link. This will allow you to send them an email. It also states their number if you would like to call.
3. You can write your own letter or you can use this form letter to get the message across:
Dear Senator:
I know that you believe, like I do, that we must do everything possible to protect children from sexual predators. That is why I am asking for your help.
Last year alone, U.S. law enforcement identified over 300,000 criminals who were trafficking in movies and pictures of young children being raped and tortured. Experts say that one in every three of these criminals has local child victims. Child pornography trafficking over the Internet has given us a trail of evidence that leads straight to their doorsteps, but the vast majority of these children will never be rescued because investigators are overwhelmed, outnumbered and underfunded.
As your constituent, I urge you to do everything in your power to pass the PROTECT Our Children Act (S. 1738, Biden-Hatch). This bipartisan legislation passed the House 415-2, but it is now the victim of petty partisan politics.
Now that we know where these children are and how to protect them, there is no excuse for the Senate to fail to take action this session.
(Your name here)

4. PRESS SEND. It is that easy. When they see that millions of mothers are extremely adament about this, it will help get the ball rolling.

If you didn't see Oprah, just take my word for it, it was awful. You have 15 seconds to spare, and that is all it takes.

YellowStone
This past weekend we headed up to Yellowstone with our great friends Brian and Amy. We had been talking about doing this for a while, and the time finally came. It was a quick trip, we left Friday night, spent the night in Jackson Hole, and then spent all day touring the wonderful world of Yellowstone. We really did have a great time and it is so nice to be out of the city (or lack there of) and into the Wilderness. It was gorgeous, and I have to say that place is truly amazing! We were hoping to have a close encounter with a bear, unfortunately that didn't happen, but the beauty all around us made up for it (we did get to see some cool animals).
